Wendell (aka Benson)

Hi Susi & Francois,
Just about the best puppy ever!!!
He slept all the way home without a peep. He greeted Jinx graciously and has
been respectful of his personal space. Jinx has been amazingly tolerant. We
played fetch and tug of war all afternoon. We put him in the crate while we
ate dinner and he only yipped once. He had a quiet evening of TV watching and
then I put him in the crate around 1030 pm. He slept quietly all night. I
got him up at 0400 with Red and he went out to pee. We got up again at 0600
for a pee & poop. He did not make any messes in his crate. Then we had some
quiet play and cuddling in my bed, after which we all went back to sleep until
a decent hour. He rode with me to take Jinx to the groomer and meet her.
He'll get a brief puppy grooming in a couple of weeks just to have the
experience. My friends came over with 5 & 7 year old boys who played with
him for over an hour. He was so good! This afternoon we were out on the
patio while I converted an old handbag to a puppy carrier--he loves lying in
the grass and following me around. Only a few accidents in the house. He is
walking on a leash (he's walking me and chasing Jinx) and fetching the
smallest tennis ball you've ever seen. He seems to like Jinx's food, which is
hypoallergenic and nutritionally balanced for all life stages, but I'm trying
to get him to eat the puppy chow in his crate.
I've attached a few photos of this am. So far he is everything that I could
ask for at this age--I'm sure that housetraining will come in time. I hope
that tonight is as quiet, but at least Red and I don't have to get up early if
it is not.
I'm sure that the attention that you gave him the last few weeks has made him
the puppy he is today. Thank you so much for all your care of him.
Best wishes,
Mitzi
Chloe

Hello Susi and Francois!
Six months have passed since we adopted Chloe, aka "Sweetie," and she is
doing very well! She's a healthy 10 pounds, races through the backyard with
her favorite rabbit toy, gets all excited to go for walks and drives, and
will graduate obedience school on Thursday!
We rid her of peeing on the carpet very early and she now uses the
doggie door with no problem at all; tearing through it daily as she runs in
from the backyard. She enjoys sitting in her car seat behind the drivers
seat with her window down and she and her brother Oreo are doing very well
together, too. They prance and dance together down the hall in the morning
once I am ready to start the day, anticipating their morning walk. She has
also gotten used to us leaving for travel and is close to our young
housesitter, Denise.
She's been pretty shy about having her picture taken and has not been
cooperative about the camera at all. So, I finally got some good ones to
give you - believe me, I've been trying all these months to get good updated
pictures for you. And here they are! Hope you and your household are all
doing very well!

Hi Susi and Francois,
We graduated today and Chloe took 2nd place! She even got a little
trophy. She loves Dave and isn't afraid of him anymore, she's getting more
used to Nash little by little, and she comes near men when they're at our
door more easily, but still keeps her distance. We rarely see her doing the
cowering motions anymore, and she loves dinner guests at our home.
I took the dogs to the dog park on Yorba and Chapman last Saturday, and
for the first time she ran around with the other dogs and was so happy to
see them! She's coming along just fine and EVERYONE says she's the cutest
thing. She's a very happy dog! And we/she owe(s) it all to you two. Thank
you for bringing her into our lives! Hope you got the pictures I sent the
other day. Bye now!

Rickie
Home alone...............
Bill and I are rarely gone but look what happens when we are............
Rickie got to a bottom bookshelf and selected a DOG BOOK to chew! Can
you believe it??
Also, notice the pillows on the couch - all the corners have been chewed
by you know who!
Isn't she CUTE!!! :)

So I put the book back thinking it's not that bad............
Bill and I go to work out this morning and were only gone 1 1/2
hours...........
Rickie was at it again...............
This time I moved the books to a higher shelf!
:)

Hallie (aka Mollie)

I just realized my Wednesday e-mail did not go out. Our apologies. We are
so excited that Tillie has a home much less one with one of her progeny!
She was just a neat dog. We grow more and more enamored with our new
addition each day. She has spent the last two days with our granddog,
daughter's dog, Brodie who is an 80lb boxer. The two love to rough house
and have fun although Janice is concerned when they wrestle on our sofa.
Anyway, Hallie has become "Molly", another in the chain of "Lynn" animals.
We truly can not begin to say thank you enough for allowing us the privilege
of having her in our home. Your mission is a tremendous one and we
appreciate it. Our only issue is that my shoulder is about shot from
throwing things to be retrieved. We will send a more dynamic picture.
Cecelia

Hi Francois and Susi,
As you can see little Cecelia is now Ginger. She is just so full of ginger
(spunkiness) we thought the name really fit her.
I am attaching some pictures of her so you can see she has fit right
in with our family. My husband just fell in love with her. Who could resist
right?
Anyways I just want to thank you for what you are doing for these little
dogs. And for allowing us to have little Ginger.
Gucci

Suzi - We have been really busy this past weekend and I forgot about calling
you. Gucci now known as "Minnie" is just a terrific addition to our family we
just love her. My son brought his shih tzu over yesterday and they both wore
themselves out. She has a veterinarian appt. tomorrow and then I will get her
groomed. So all in all, we are doing great. Thank you very much and good luck
to your organization. Diane
Cocoa Puffs

Hello Suzie & Francois: hope you had a wonderful trip to China and have
returned safely. I have been looking forward to sending you pictures of
CocoaPuffs, which are attached. There are two in our RV and one in the
backyard.
CocoaPuffs is doing wonderfully well and has found her voice. She is "no
longer timid"; and enjoys having conversations with the neighbor dogs whether
they be next door or across the street. She enjoyed meeting the other small
dogs in our RV Club and now has friends to look forward to seeing on RV Trips.
I am sure she has gained weight in spite of her daily sprints in the back
yard. We love her so much and we are greatful everyday that she is ours. She
brings us so much pleasure.
Enjoy the pictures.

Makena

Hi Susi & Francois,
Just an update on our beautiful Makena...She and I passed the Delta Society
evaluation this morning and I was so proud of her. She has already been going
to my friend's mother's nursing home as a "pet dog" and everyone loved her. Now
Makena can go as a Certified Pet Therapy Partner to many places bringing smiles
to so many people. I am very excited.
Also, I am part of a real estate team and my broker, Bobbi and her husband,
Buddy are head over heels in love with Makena. If I go into the office, Makena
is by my side. They even have a ceramic dog water bowl and a bed just for her in
our office. My broker and her husband took care of Makena for a week while we
were on vacation...perfect...dog door Makena's size and all the attention she
could ever want. They are thrilled that she likes to ride in the car (as their
previous dog, a Maltese, passed away the end of last year and she didn't enjoy
the car at all.)
Our team is putting on a Living Longer Forum for seniors and we did a television
commercial...yes, Makena was the star. Since she was going to be certified to
go out to hospitals and nursing homes she was the perfect dog to be in the
commercial. She actually slept thru the two hours it took to make the 60 second
commercial and after it was over everyone else went behind the cameras jumping
up and down to get Makena's attention...they dubbed her being awake for the
sleeping part. (She was very fluffy as I had her scheduled for grooming that
afternoon...oh well...she looks adorable fluffy.) I look like a statue standing
behind her--not too much television experience. The lady speaking is my broker
and the man behind her is her husband who keeps telling us to go out of town so
they can take care of Makena again. Makena is so loved.
To see a copy of our commercial click on the website below and then click on
VIDEOS and then on the photo (third one right now) called SRES (Seniors Real
Estate Specialist) and have your sound up so you can hear Bobbi speak. Please
note that none of people had their names on the screen...only Makena because she
is special.

One more thing, if you ever get another Shih Tzu with Makena's personality I am
sure Bobbi and Buddy would like to adopt her. They definitely want a female and
I don't think age matters. They are fantastic dog parents.
I hope you are doing well. Fondly, Pam

Leo

LDR,
As promised, here are the belated Easter pictures of Leo and Bella. As you can
see, after the photo shoot he ran off to take those drarn ears off! He
continues to make me laugh with his naugty and sweet antics. Bella is my
wonderful little Mother's helper. I adopted her from the shelter at 11 years of
age. She is now close to 15 years old and is the sweetest little love anyone
could wish for. I am so blessed with all my fur babies.
Hugs,
Suzanne, Leo and Bella
Claire

Here are some pictures of Claire having some happy moments.
I'm soooo glad to hear that the "ritual" claire does in the crate is
her usual deal, cause I thought I was invading her space by putting her
food in there...whew!!...LOL
Claire
is doing WONDERFUL...soooo much better than I ever imagined so quickly.
She has the run of the house...her and Sarah are PERFECT together (not
even shoving or grring)...just happy girls. Claire even went upstairs
this morning and woke Sarah and Lance up...demanding they hurry and come
downstairs...LOL...she's soooo funny!!
Claire selected her spot at the vacant apartment, and stays in that
spot, except when she comes to hang out with me when I'm on the floor
laying the flooring. All the pictures are at the apt, except the blue
sofa one.
I have NEVER loved a fur-child this much...and I will never be without a
Maltese again...they are soooo special and such little humans. Claire
has become our whole lives, and I hope that we are hers too (we are sure
trying to be). Claire seems VERY happy with us. Yesterday we went to
the Vet, and she met Dr. Sharp, and Sarah got her booster shots, and he
gave Claire a little decongestant shot as her nose has been a little
drippy. She liked Dr. Sharp and his crew, just like Sarah does.
Well, time for us to go work on the apt.
Hugs, Janice
You and Francois sure turned Claire's life around, and changed her life
from scared to happy...you two are awesome.
